History

Zamperla is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of amusement rides, with a history that spans over 50 years. The company was founded in 1966 by Antonio Zamperla, a young entrepreneur who had a passion for mechanical engineering and entertainment. He started by building small rides for traveling carnivals in Italy, and soon expanded his business to other countries in Europe and beyond.

Zamperla’s breakthrough came in 1976, when he designed and built the first Z-Force roller coaster for Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. The ride was a sensation, featuring a unique vertical loop that defied gravity and thrilled riders. Zamperla quickly became known for his innovative and daring creations, such as the Enterprise, the Power Surge, and the Air Race.

Zamperla’s vision was not limited to thrill rides, however. He also developed a range of family-friendly attractions, such as the Balloon Race, the Rockin’ Tug, and the Flying Carousel. He also collaborated with famous brands and characters, such as Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, and Sesame Street, to create themed rides that appealed to children of all ages.

Zamperla’s legacy continues today with his sons Alberto and Antonio Jr., who lead the company with the same spirit of innovation and excellence. Zamperla operates in over 90 countries, with offices in Italy, the United States, China, and Dubai. The company also owns and operates several amusement parks around the world, such as Luna Park in New York and Coney Island.

Zamperla is more than just a ride manufacturer. It is a family of dreamers and makers who share a common goal: to create happiness and memories for millions of people around the world.
